U.S. Department of Transportation Physical Exam

Dr. Ryan Thomas is a Certified Medical Examiner for the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and performs DOT physical exams for drivers.  All commercial drivers whose current medical certificate expires on or after May 21, 2014, at expiration of that certificate must be examined by a medical professional listed on the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners, and Dr. Thomas is on the registry.  Only medical examiners who have completed the training and successfully passed a test on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) physical qualification standards are listed on the National Registry.

What you will need for your DOT Exam​

1.  Bring your driver's license and current DOT medical card (if applicable).

2.  Bring a list of any current medication you are taking along with any reports of any current medical conditions.
